Tigersharks Swim Team
The Spencer Family YMCA Tigersharks Swim Team is a competitive age-group swim team that competes in YMCA competition from November to March. The Tigersharks compete with other YMCA teams from Spirit Lake, Worthington, LeMars, Algona, Forest City, Charles City, and Des Moines. The State YMCA Swim Meet is held annually at the Marshalltown YMCA.
The Tigersharks also compete in the Greater Iowa Swim League with teams from Emmetsburg, Estherville, Carroll and others around the state. The GISL State Meet is held in mid-March.
2022-2023 Tigersharks Swim Team season begins October 24th, 2022. The Tigershark commitment inlcudes weekly practices and optional participation in swim meets.
To qualify:
- Kindergarten - 12th grade.
- 8 years old and younger must be able to swim 25 yards (one length of the pool) using front crawl and back crawl without stopping.
- 9 years old and older must be able to swim 50 yards without stopping.
Cost: $255 annually
